The WHRDs network in Kanchapur had organized a protest in front of the government offices and hospital as well. There were around 1000 women demanding that the FIR has to be registered within 24 hours, urging the government to conduct a proper investigation of the incident and to stop intimidation and harassement of WHRDs.

On 16 June, 2008, the NAWHRDs with its district chapter members organized a sit in protest in Maitighar Mandala with around 50 WHRDs representing various marginalized sectors and distributed pamphlets with the demands as listed in the urgent appeal. The urgent appeal and request letters will then be distributed to the government officials for their actions to be made.
